A 2 days trip in the heart of traditions of the Piana of Navelli.
A land rich in history, art and culture known for the saffron, the red gold of Abruzzo.
Day 1. Morning arrival at our accommodation. Meeting and briefing with guide. Departure for the MTB tour . Packed Lunch. Return in the afternoon, visit of the village, traditional dinner and overnight stay.
The guided MTB trail provides a tour in the best areas of Navelli Plain where the cultivation of Saffron is handed down from father to son. Starting from Civitaretenga, we will touch Caporciano, Tussio, the fortified village of Castello Camponeschi in Prata D'Ansidonia, Bominaco and again Caporciano to return to Civitaretenga through Navelli. On the way we will visit the points of interest.
Day 2. After breakfast, we will reach our local guide to get in touch with the cultivation of saffron. The first part of the day will be dedicated to the harvest in the fields. The second part will be devoted to the withering and removal of the stigma, at the laboratories of the village. It is an authentic celebration of the memory. Lunch with local products. The excursion will end in the afternoon.
