Geotourism in the Majella National Park: A day as a geologisti!
A day as a geologist! is one of the routes related to "When Gaia discovers Maja", a project of Geotourism (geological tourism) in the Majella National Park and surrounding areas. The ultimate goal is to explain the landscape that surrounds us, the geological history and its evolution, going to provide the tools of knowledge useful to read (and understand) the Planet Earth we live on.
During A day as a geologist! you will see two geologists at work on the southern Majella terrain close to Palena, and you'll discover how you can recognize layers, faults, fossils. To interpret life and the past geological environments you'll use this information, hammer, lens , compass, maps, and ... a little imagination! You will be projected back in space-time, but with the vision of what will be in the future!

The tour will be led in collaboration with the geologist Adele Garzarella.
Comfortable clothes: hiking boots, windcheater , hat with visor, sunscreen, water, light food, camera. In case of bad weather or other causes of force majeure, the routes will be canceled. The tour will take place if there will be at least 10 participants.Childrens up to 6 years: free of charge.
