If the Italian diet is based on pasta, Fara San Martino is the ideal place to continue the tradition under the spectacular the frame of the Massif of the Majella.

Friday: Afternoon - Arrival and accomodation in hotel or B&B; dinner time at your disposal.

Saturday: After a hearty breakfast based on local products meeting with Barbara and we leave for a tour of the village to discover the nature and characteristic of Fara, especially the oldest part: Terra vecchia (Old Earth). The guided tour will wind through the Gorge and the headwaters of the Verde River until we reach the spectacular Abbey of San Martino in Valle (see video below). A nice walk of about two hours in which you will discover the hidden treasures of Faresi. After returning waiting for you a lunch of pasta with the opportunity to taste the traditional dishes and to end a pleasant surprise. In the afternoon,accompanied by Giovanni,  a visit to the Macaronium Museum, to rediscove ancient crafts and trades. And then it comes the time to get your have your finger in the pie and learn how to make spaghetti alla chitarra. For those unwilling to make the pasta the alternative is a local olive oil panel test . In the evening the dinner time is at your disposal and overnight.

Sunday:The day begins with a hearty breakfast of local products, ready to meet again Barbara and leave for another hike in nature, but this time to explore the caves of Sant'Angelo in Palombaro. The cave, located at 1000 meters s.l.m.  is accessible via a nature trail that follows the route of an ancient path (braccio tratturale) of the Majella leading to the pastures of the  Martellese and Mount Ugni. After about two hours of hiking it's time for lunch to refuel: menu based on traditional dishes of Abruzzo. In the afternoon departure.
